A Simple At-Home Glow Ritual
When skin feels dull, dry, or winter-worn, exfoliation makes all the difference.
This simple vanilla brown sugar body polish gently removes surface buildup while nourishing the skin with natural oils. It leaves skin smooth, warm, and lightly scented, like a bakery kitchen in the best way.
Brown Sugar
Finer and gentler than coarse sugar, brown sugar exfoliates without micro-tearing the skin. It also contains small amounts of glycolic acid (naturally occurring) which supports surface renewal.
Coconut Oil or Sweet Almond Oil
Adds emollient protection and helps seal in moisture after exfoliation.
Vanilla Extract (Pure)
Adds warmth and aromatic comfort.
Ingredients
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ½ cup coconut oil (softened but not melted)
or sweet almond oil - 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- Optional: ½ teaspoon cinnamon for warmth
Instructions
- Combine brown sugar and oil in a mixing bowl.
- Stir until evenly blended.
- Add vanilla extract and mix thoroughly.
- Store in an airtight glass jar.
- Use within 2–3 weeks.
How to Use
In the shower:
- Apply to damp skin.
- Massage gently in circular motions.
- Rinse thoroughly.
- Follow with body oil or cream while skin is still slightly damp.
Use 1–2 times per week.
Pro Tip
After exfoliating, apply body oil first while skin is damp. Then layer body cream. This seals in hydration more effectively than cream alone.
Safety Note
Because this recipe contains no preservative:
